We are looking for a Data Analyst, Royalties who will ensure our royalties calculations and reports are accurate and aligned with all contractual obligations and internal policies. You will work with multiple teams (engineering, accounting, business affairs and BI teams) to establish requirements and support the development, automation and delivery of customized reports.

You will join the Royalty Reporting team that builds and tailors the processes that take large datasets from across our platform, to calculate the royalties due to Music Rights Holders and report on both the royalties and on wider datasets that we share with our stakeholders.

You have experience with large datasets (terabyte scale) and querying databases to create ad-hoc data analysis. You will have experience with database structures, and proficient in both SQL and Excel (can perform complex functions)  with experience using ETL tools in a microservice architecture.

Job Description

You Will: 

  • Support the monthly and quarterly Royalties reporting process, ensure the accurate delivery of reports to stakeholders, perform analysis of deliverables, and conduct quality review

  • Provide ad-hoc support for multiple teams (Accounting, Legal, Licensing, etc.) as well as external music labels and rights holders that require data analysis

  • Work with our technical engineers to help develop our Royalties system and process enhancements to perform royalties calculations, product configuration and reporting

  • Create and maintain operational dashboards to analyze royalties related trends

  • Create scripts to automate workflows and remove repetitive tasks and monitor data integrity to ensure high level of accuracy

  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile and resolve conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and validate deliverables

Qualifications

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field with strong academic performance
  • 4+ years of using databases, analytical tools, and writing complex SQL queries to solve problems

  • 2+ years of experience with data visualizations and dashboard creation that can help guide decisions

  • Proficient in working with system applications, data modeling, database schemas, workflow and validation rules, backend data tables, formula fields, reports & dashboards

  • High Familiarity with data platforms such as Redshift, Tableau, Databricks, and Airflow

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills while effective at writing and presenting analyses for all types of users

  • Experience working in the music industry is a plus
