Job Description

People are the driving force behind company success and as a Sourcer at Square, you will occupy a strategic function that supports team growth and shapes our culture. You will partner with recruiters to identify unique talent and help to attract talent to Square across marketing, creative, and product marketing functions. We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing an exceptional candidate experience while supporting our scaling teams. Reporting to the Recruiting Manager for Marketing, Creative, and PMM, you will develop top of funnel sourcing strategies focusing on both short-term and long-term hiring goals.

You will: 

  • Develop a top of funnel recruiting strategies that focus on both short-term hiring, such as research and sourcing for open positions, as well as long-term hiring goals involving nurturing talent from market mapping, networking, events, and referrals

  • Partner with full-cycle recruiters to understand the details of priority positions that need top of funnel support and overall hiring needs of the business

  • Perform passive candidate sourcing and research activities to assist full-cycle recruiting partners in building a diverse pipeline for their positions

  • Conduct phone interviews and assess potential candidates for level of interest and qualifications, and convert hard to find passive talent through an understanding of the business and employee value proposition

  • Identify and share the qualifications, strengths, and opportunities of candidates to hiring managers and full-cycle recruiting partners

  • Build sourcing best practices to share with broader talent and client teams

  • Partner with data analytics to determine pipeline trends

  • Collect and frame-up external talent market data to help partners to inform and influence decisions


You have:

  • 4+ years of work experience in a sourcing or full-cycle recruiting position with an emphasis on market research and passive sourcing

  • Experience executing a comprehensive sourcing strategy with a focus on specific functional areas and/or I&D, preferably in marketing and GTM

  • Knowledge of sourcing techniques, inclusive of boolean, data mining, professional networking, and passive candidate prospecting

  • Experience speaking with and assessing candidates' skills and qualifications

  • Experience working with funnel data and using it to influence decisions
