The Compliance team at Square is looking for someone to join our team as the lead for the Seller Product Compliance team. The Seller Product Compliance team advises and creates Compliance strategies to allow the launch and growth of Square Seller products globally. The team is experts in industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and in Square's product offerings. You will ensure that we assess compliance needs, design and implement applicable policies, and build internal infrastructure to support Square. You will also help develop our organizational growth strategy alongside other Compliance senior leaders to evolve and scale our programs, infrastructure and platforms as Square continues to grow. You will report to the Head of Seller Compliance.
You will:
Lead a team of compliance product and program managers who advise partners and create Compliance programs to help grow Square's business across all Seller products and markets
Develop the Product Compliance team's strategy and vision to keep the team evolving to meet the needs of the company and support broader Compliance projects
Partner with senior leadership across Compliance and Seller Product to develop creative, risk-weighted solutions, policies, and processes
Manage the progress of the Product Compliance team goals against roadmaps
Advocate Compliance's mission and manage relationships across the company to ensure that the team is well positioned from concept to execution
Remain up-to-date on regulatory changes and landscape, best practices and developments in the industry
Partner with the broader Counsel team to share information about developments in Square's product and Compliance programs to organize efficient and transparent support across the department
Qualifications
You have:
5+ years in a senior Compliance role in financial services, with strong advisory skills
3+ years of people management experience
Operational knowledge in building and running a sound Compliance program
Knowledge in payment regulations and scheme rules, knowledge of areas of lending, e-commerce, and peer-to-peer payments also ideal
Ability to strategize against competing priorities and identify the important problems to solve
Creative problem-solving skills and a metrics-driven approach to create substantiated solutions
A do-it-all, nothing is too small mentality
