Job Description

Restaurants today operate in an increasingly dynamic landscape, and we're building a modern product ecosystem to support this. The Restaurants team at Square empowers Food & Drink businesses of all kinds to start, run, and grow their businesses through advanced workflows, specialized products, business insights, and inclusion in the greater Square ecosystem. We are looking for a Product Manager to oversee our Growth efforts as the Square Restaurants team continues on our mission to bring best-in-class tools to Restaurant owners and staff. As a PM for this team, you will define the product strategy and roadmap, conceive and execute on growth experiments, and work closely with our Data Science, Marketing, and Engineering teams. Our approach is both customer-focused and data-driven, meaning you will need to dig in deeply to understand our customers and be adept at analyzing the metrics to derive where gains (large and small) can be created. 

As part of this role you will:

  • Work closely alongside data scientists to identify where the greatest opportunities lie.

  • Build the growth backlog, experimentation process, and strategic vision.

  • Define key objectives and ensure success is measurable and can be improved upon

  • Use a scientific approach to growth. Hypothesize, build, measure and learn; and leverage insights to inform product direction

  • Influence key stakeholders throughout Square to align intent, resources, and prioritization

  • Operate cross-functionally and build partnerships across the company in delivering excellent products

  • Foster an environment that enables the team to execute quickly while maintaining a high standard for quality

  • Manage the entire product life cycle from ideation, to planning, execution and launch

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in product management, with products across multiple platforms and countries

 

  • History driving growth initiatives including onboarding and optimization

  • Experience removing the seams and removing friction from experiences

  • A background in analytics or analytically heavy projects 

  • Strong customer empathy and experience shaping product direction and execution based on customer needs

  • Navigated product scale challenges in a high growth environment

  • Served as an evangelist for a product group
