Product Manager, Channels and Fulfillment

  • San Francisco, CA
  • Employees can work remotely
  • Full-time
  • Alternate Location: New York, United States

Company Description

Square builds common business tools in unconventional ways so more people can start, run, and grow their businesses. When Square started, it was difficult and expensive (or just plain impossible) for some businesses to take credit cards. Square made credit card payments possible for all by turning a mobile phone into a credit card reader. Since then Square has been building an entire business toolkit of both hardware and software products including Square Capital, Square Terminal, Square Payroll, and more. We’re working to find new and better ways to help businesses succeed on their own terms—and we’re looking for people like you to help shape tomorrow at Square.

Job Description

The Square Channels and Fulfillment team, formed by the acquisition of Stitch Labs in July 2020, is on a mission to help sellers expand their business into omni-channel sales. We are building the tools to help our sellers to sell across stores, marketplaces, e-commerce sites, and anywhere else they need to grow their business. As part of omni-channel selling, we are also building the tools needed to fulfill these new orders in any way their buyers want from guaranteed two day shipping to curbside pickup to on-demand delivery.

As a Product Manager on the Channels and Fulfillment team, you will help millions of small businesses that are expanding their sales online and help them transition to successful omni-channel businesses. You will need to be both customer obsessed and data-driven, digging into understanding our sellers, their needs, and their behavior. You will lead a team to move quickly and create remarkable solutions for our customers. If you're looking to change the way small businesses operate and create impact at a high-growth company, you will find this role compelling and rewarding.

You should have experience optimizing customer experience, coordinating and completing complex projects, and leading teams. You will report to the product lead for Channels and Fulfillment as you partner with engineering, design, analytics, and other teams across Square to release remarkable seller experiences.

Qualifications

  • Determine product strategy and improve our customers' experience using a variety of inputs, and articulate rationale and data behind decisions
  • Understand our customers and their needs, and guide our team to ship remarkable solutions
  • Identify opportunities for Square and our customers, propose and evaluate projects that will be most impact, promote them across the organization, and implement these projects from idealization through release.
  • In collaboration with engineering, marketing, and analytics partners, lead the end-to-end success of projects from discovery to launch
  • Be the point person for your product area to leadership and across the organization
  • Influence partners throughout Square to align intent, resources, and prioritization

You Have:

  • 5+ years of product management experience
  • Vision: You've created, gained agreement, and pursued strategies shaping the direction of your team.
  • Results: You are excellent tactically, with experience shipping elegant products at scale.
  • Customer empathy: Experience shaping product direction and execution based on customer needs.
  • A collaborative approach: Experience coordinating with partners in a complex organization.
  • Comfortable working with data and models to understand current performance, model out growth opportunities, and apply data to your decisions.
  • Have managed projects at a strategic and operational level communicating your strategy to partners, product managers, engineers, and designers.
  • You can explain technical and complex topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Natural curiosity and obsession with the details
