Job Description
We’re seeking a risk professional and inspiring people leader who will build and enhance Cash’s risk and fraud frameworks to grow Cash's business.
A successful candidate for this role will be a strong communicator, who is experienced acting as an internal consultant and excels at explaining the value of risk to audiences inside and outside of their org. Risk mindset, creativity, and strategic thinking are key qualifications, as this role will work with business partners in building and maintaining scalable risk frameworks that can be confidently demonstrated to regulators, external partners, and stakeholders. The ability to build influence and educate teams across the company on the importance of risk will be an essential driver for success. This role will work with the business at all organizational layers, so it will be important to demonstrate flexibility in approach, communication style, and depth of understanding.
This role will also be responsible for managing risk projects that require fraud and risk subject matter expertise and strong partnership with cross-functional stakeholders.
You will be accountable for:
Leading a team of advisors who provide recommendations for operational and process improvements with a focus on proactive risk mitigation
Partnering with key stakeholders to build preventative controls and strategies that meet ongoing internal and external standards and creating processes to effectively demonstrate these practices on a continuous basis
Conducting periodic reviews and gap analysis of existing policies and working closely with owners to implement remediations for improvement
Advising process/control owners with the preparation and on-going maintenance of controls and control documentation (e.g., policies, procedures, narratives, and matrices)
Managing the ongoing monitoring of key risk metrics and facilitate the regular reporting to key leaders
Escalating key risks to leaders to ensure awareness, oversight, and action
Building strong relationships with business partners and assisting with continuous improvement aligned with operational processes
Building and representing the Risk Advisory’s team culture and priorities as part of the overall ecosystem CCO is building across internal and external sites
Leading, coordinating, or supporting efforts around impactful, high visibility projects
Mentoring and coaching the leadership talent and creating paths for every role to enrich the organization and retain talent
Developing and enabling opportunity and growth for team members beyond role-based, professional, and educational paths for personal improvement
Qualifications
You Have:
A proactive doer-coach who innovates and builds relationships to get the job done and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, incorporating constant change
8+ years of experience in risk management, audit, risk assurance, compliance, or similar areas
5+ years in a people leadership role, with proven coaching experience and the ability to build a team from the ground up
Detailed working knowledge and prior experience in building and maintaining risk, controls, and risk reporting policies and framework
Knowledge of, or experience working with tech, fintech or financial service companies is a plus
Experience working with industry regulators and accreditation bodies
Ability to operate autonomously, lead meetings and projects with minimal guidance
Analytical thinker, highly organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
