Mobile Engineering Manager, Square for Restaurants

  • San Francisco, CA
  • Full-time

Company Description

Square builds common business tools in unconventional ways so more people can start, run, and grow their businesses. When Square started, it was difficult and expensive (or just plain impossible) for some businesses to take credit cards. Square made credit card payments possible for all by turning a mobile phone into a credit card reader. Since then Square has been building an entire business toolkit of both hardware and software products including Square Capital, Square Terminal, Square Payroll, and more. We’re working to find new and better ways to help businesses succeed on their own terms—and we’re looking for people like you to help shape tomorrow at Square.

Job Description

Restaurants today operate in an increasingly dynamic landscape, and we're building a modern product ecosystem to support this.  The Restaurants team at Square empowers Food & Drink businesses of all kinds to start, run, and grow their businesses through advanced workflows, specialized products, business insights, and inclusion in the greater Square ecosystem.  In everything we build, we focus on efficiency, automation, and reliability: themes of paramount importance in a fast-paced environment where great hospitality is key.

The Restaurants team is looking for an experienced manager to lead our mobile product development team.

  • Work closely with your engineers and with engineering teams within Restaurants and across Square to build world-class software.

  • Lead your team to design and build technology for the long haul, cement your products' place in the Square ecosystem, and provide your customers with products that both delight and serve critical needs

Qualifications

You are:

  • Experienced in coaching and developing engineers through senior levels, and growing engineering teams through hiring and career development. Maintains a customer focus and applies that focus at all times to product definition, design, engineering, and operations.
