Localization Content Specialist (Spanish- US Market)

  • San Francisco, CA, USA
  • Full-time

Company Description

Square was founded in 2009 by Jack Dorsey and Jim McKelvey and is headquartered in San Francisco, with offices now operating across the United States, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Japan and the UK. When Square started, it was difficult and expensive (or just plain impossible) for some businesses to take credit cards. Square made credit card payments possible for all by turning a mobile phone into a credit card reader. Since then Square has been building an entire business toolkit of both hardware and software products including Square Terminal, Square Point of Sale, Square Online, and more. We’re working to find new and better ways to help businesses succeed on their own terms—and we’re looking for people like you to help shape tomorrow at Square.

  • Successfully support brand and product campaigns localizing an asset pipeline that addresses pre-established channel KPIs

  • Transcreate assets to support product launches and ongoing campaigns, developing a pipeline for multiple paid and organic channels with digital and static assets.

  • Establish a voice and tone for the local market that is consistent with the global brand

  • Engage in linguistic validation as the expert in your market, upholding a high-quality bar across the asset pipeline

  • Develop original content that speaks directly to customers in their native language and with the right level of cultural relevance

  • 5+ years of experience in asset localization, message transcreation and creative writing

  • Deep understanding of the U.S. Spanish-speaking community and its cultural dimensions and linguistic norms

  • Ability to apply local cultural knowledge to create hyper-localized content

  • Proven experience with global brands in a role that engages with outside agencies to manage and produce locally relevant digital and static content for a variety of channels.

  • Outstanding organizational skills: the ability to handle multiple projects interacting with various stakeholders simultaneously

  • Ability to identify requirements and prioritize critical deliverables
