Job Description

Corporate Internal Communications tells the internal narratives of our company’s growth, guides employees through significant milestones at the company level, and empowers our partners to reach and resonate with internal audiences. Reporting to the Corporate Internal Communications Lead, you will work with our Stock, Payroll, Finance & Strategy, Accounts Payable, and Treasury teams to curate internal communications (news, announcements, and resources) that keep our global workforce informed on our internal offerings and connected to our purpose of economic empowerment. As you grow in your role, there will be opportunities to expand your scope. Your audience will be Square, Inc.'s growing multinational employee population across our corporate and business teams (including Seller, Cash App, TIDAL, the Bank, and TBD).

This role will be based in the west coast, and we're open to remote work!

We’re looking for a life-long learner who thrives through complexity to bring tangible results. As the Corporate Internal Communications Partner, you will:

  • Create and implement a communications strategy that creatively informs and engages employees on financial policies, offerings, and programs, determining key messages and the right internal channels to share them (regionally and globally, where applicable)
  • Build deep and trusted partnerships with partners, stay informed on evolving policies and regulations in the financial landscape 
  • Guide employees through scaling our organizational tools, programs, and processes with engaging communications and stellar change management principles
  • Lead resource management strategy and migration to our new resource platform  for corporate teams 
  • Tag-team corporate internal announcements with the team lead on the crisis communications front
  • Monitor internal channels (email, Slack, etc.) to look for opportunities to engage employees, connect them with their resources, clarify information, and maintain collaboration in the way we work

Qualifications

You have:

  • 4 years of relevant work experience. In-house communications experience is a plus, but not required.
  • The ability to simplify complex topics in a way that’s easy to understand 
  • Experience working well on quick timelines and adapting quickly to change
  • Strong and prolific writing skills (in particular, the ability to write creatively on a variety of topics, copy-editing experience, and an appreciation for the Oxford comma)
  • Diligent attention to detail, balanced with the ability to multitask and execute quickly
  • Curiosity, creative thinking, and a sense of humor

Nice to haves:

  • Experience working with audiences across time zones; aware of regional practices (or a desire to learn them!) 
  • A background in change management 
  • Experience communicating financial concepts
