ABOUT THE TEAM

The Global Brand Marketing Team at Square is a growing team that is dedicated to building and promoting the Square brand. We are a cross-functional group that includes Brand Insights & Strategy, Brand Marketing, Experiential Marketing, and Brand Partnerships. As a team, we are united by our goal to create a unified and unique global brand through excellent marketing, customer engagement, and experiences.

Job Description

Square is looking for a strategic, creative, and results-oriented Senior Brand Manager to join the Brand Team. You will manage the development of integrated brand marketing programs designed to further build the Square brand and grow the Square business.

You will oversee the strategy, development and execution for best-in-class awareness campaigns and programs. This role requires close collaboration with other teams across Brand Marketing, as well as strong partnership with Creative, Product teams, and Marketing Analytics in order measure, analyze and optimize campaign performance on an ongoing basis.

You have brand marketing experience working on large brands within matrixed or siloed organizations. You can effectively write briefs, evaluate creative and media plans, manage cross-functional teams and agencies. You will be strategic and analytical, appreciating the balance that is art and science within marketing, and be very comfortable using data to make decisions.

You will have worked on a variety of integrated marketing campaigns and programs to increase brand and product awareness and promote customer engagement. You will feel comfortable working with cross-functional teams and external partners, and excel in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

You Will:

  • Work with our Insights & Strategy team to develop a deep understanding of our seller personas, mindsets, attitudes, values and behaviors.
  • Work cross-functionally with product marketing teams, Creative and other Brand Team members to build brand programs and acquire new customers.
  • Plan and manage integrated campaigns across Paid, Owned, and Earned channels from briefing through execution, including working with other Marketing teams to develop full funnel campaigns
  • Manage agency partners to deliver media plans and make on-going optimizations to maximize performance throughout the campaign.
  • Work as a close cross functional partner with the creative team to lead development and execution of creative against brief. Ensuring media strategy and creative strategies are aligned.
  • Analyze, monitor and report on competitive landscape, including competitive positioning, products, brands and campaigns
  • Work with Marketing Analytics to set campaign goals and KPIs and help measure and monitor campaign performance.
  • Identify marketing trends across cultural moments and industries with a specific focus on small business, technology, eCommerce, food & beverage, and sports & events
  • Oversee and develop one direct report

Qualifications

You Have:

 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - can clearly communicate an idea, thought or program to people at all levels of understanding and seniority
  • Highly collaborative, a cross-functional leader and influencer with advanced interpersonal skills who thrives working in teams
  • Experienced in managing media agency relationships
  • Experience with brand measurement metrics, experimentation, and analytics
  • Comfortable interpreting and applying insights from data and market research
  • Ability to work with some level of ambiguity, in a business-critical role that will be defined and redefined along the journey
  • Curious and brave with a constant desire to test new ideas and channels.
  • You naturally take a global-first mindset
  • BA/BS degree required, Masters degree preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with an MBA, 8+ years without an MBA
  • Understanding of all marketing touch points
  • Manage and optimize marketing channels to maximize performance
  • Balance of analytical, strategic, and creative thinking
