The Square Payroll team mission is to build the next generation of payroll solutions that empower sellers and their teams to succeed together. Now more than ever, as the economy reopens and employers want to rehire, they need to search for ways that they can support and provide value for their staff and for their business. We are looking for a passionate designer who is excited to create meaningful change for small- and medium-sized business owners and their employees.
As a Service Designer for Square Payroll you will own design discovery and execution for our tax and payroll operations. You will reduce complexity and create scalability for our internal systems and tools. You will help guide the roadmap to give our business owners peace of mind by helping them stay compliant and giving them control of their cash flow. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, operation specialists, and customer service teams to deliver a remarkable product.
This is a remote-friendly position.
- Around 5 years of professional design experience
- A portfolio of work on which you were the primary designer, with moderate guidance from design leadership
- Experience in service design (Systems Design, UX/UI Design, Organizational Design)
You are an advocate for the customer and approach problems with an experience mindset
You find opportunities to improve systems and processes to create more value in our business and our customer experience
You facilitate workshops, conduct research, and work cross-functionally to create a collective understanding of our tools, systems and services
You create elegant and clear journey maps, service blueprints, and documentation of systems
You create professional, well-thought-out designs using established design systems
You establish UX metrics such as task analysis, NPS and survey data
You always think about how your work fits into the full ecosystem during all phases of the design process
