Junior Product Designer, Payments Platform

As a Product Designer on the Payments Platform team at Square, you will help guide the future of commerce and design the tools our partners need to delight our Sellers. We are on a mission to help businesses of any size in the world be successful, and Square's Payment Platform contributes in helping our mission scale.
We are looking for someone that enjoys complex problems, highly empathetic, is a team player, and is motivated by holding the highest experience standards. You'll support on decisions that directly influence most of the primary products at Square.
On this team, your work will span from collaborating in the early stages of our research to participating in understanding our Seller journeys, proposing concepts, validating them quickly, and developing the detailed designs that ship the most remarkable experiences.
You will report directly to the Design Director, but will also be paired with an outstanding mentor to help support and guide your growth as a Designer at Square. This is a cross-functional role where you will work with other designers, product managers, analysts, and engineers. Innovation and Product Development are team sports and we are proud to be a very collaborative design team.
This is a remote friendly position.

- At least (1–3) years of professional design experience, including internship experience
- A portfolio that outlines your design process and showcases work to completion
- Experience speaking to the goals of the work as well as successes and failures
- You are comfortable with defining scope for your work and setting proper expectations with your cross-functional team
- You can clearly communicate and present your work to your product team and design peers
- You participate in research programs and brainstorms to gather input to improve your design work
- You seek feedback from other designers and partners to help improve your work and grow your skills
