Job Description

The global Square Marketing team helps businesses learn about Square and engage with our ecosystem of products and services. Square is looking for a social media marketer to join our UK marketing team. You will become Square's voice on social media — elevating the brand and telling our story in a way that is meaningful, authentic and engaging. You'll manage concepting and creation of all social content and become a trusted voice for our community of sellers across the UK.

Under your leadership our channels will become a destination for our community to engage and interact with Square. You will be accomplished in bringing ideas, campaigns and moments to life on digital channels, and you'll be comfortable taking creative concepts and tailoring them for social. You will report to the UK brand lead, and you can work from anywhere in the UK.

You will:

  • Write and own the social media strategy for the UK.
  • Radically grow Square UK's presence on social across our platforms, building an engaged community of business owners and decision makers.
  • Use organic social media to achieve our marketing goals, including engagement, brand perception, consideration, and lead generation and customer acquisition.
  • Report on progress against the metrics for success, and on social's contribution to wider marketing goals.
  • Work with the wider marketing team to bring our campaigns and creative to life across our social channels.
  • Work with our global teams to define social best practice, resourcing requirements and establishing an excellent approach to the combination of paid and organic social.
  • Use interactions with our community on social media to understand our audience in a deep way, and to ensure insights are applied to other marketing activities. You'll be an expert on the trends, cultural moments and issues that our audience cares most about.

Qualifications

You Have:

  • Experience managing social channels for an innovative brand, publisher or person (including yourself!)
  • A passion for social media and a genuine belief in its ability to bring people together.
  • A genuine interest and curiosity in helping small businesses succeed.
  • Experience managing creative development of photography and video assets.
  • Your finger on the pulse when it comes to social trends, cultural moments and knowing how and when to translate these into brand moments.
  • Experience working with data, especially within social platforms and CMS tools
