Job Description

Square’s Sales organization drives aggressive revenue growth for the company by deeply understanding our Sellers’ stories and helping them onboard world-class solutions to grow their businesses.  The team balances an infectiously positive attitude with a drive to win and see our company grow alongside our customers.

As a Sales Strategy Analyst on the Sales Strategy team, you will use and develop your analytical skill set to empower data-driven decision-making across our Sales team. This role is a hybrid of traditional jobs in data analysis, performance evaluation, sales strategy and planning. You will join our motivated team of analysts and support our global Sales teams in optimizing Sales growth across each of our markets. You will report to the Head of Sales Strategy.

You will: 

  • Conduct insightful analyses to guide strategic decisions for our global Sales teams
  • Evaluate Sales performance and make recommendations for improvements that are informed by data-driven insights
  • Consult with Sales Strategy and Sales leadership to identify growth levers, complete analyses, implement tracking infrastructure and create visualizations
  • Work with Sales partners and other teams (in Marketing, Finance, Data Science, and more) to plan and launch new sales programs
  • Develop relationships with Sales and Sales Ops leaders to ensure Sales Strategy programs are aligned with the Sales team's purpose and priorities


You have:

  • 2+ years of analytical and problem-solving experience (top-tier management consulting, corporate strategy, sales/business operations, finance, or similar)
  • BA/BS required (major in analytical or technical field)
  • Demonstrated ability conducting complex data analysis to present relevant insights, through a combination of SQL (proficiency preferred), Google Sheets (proficiency with elegant analyses and models is a must), and Looker (or similar data visualization tool)
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can work effectively with all levels
  • You are excited to dive into tough problems and build new processes / deliverables from scratch
  • You develop frameworks to support strategic decisions and are experienced at detailed execution
