Square's mobile applications continue to rapidly scale and diversify as each new opportunity is tackled by teams of passionate engineers. Mobile Performance & Reliability endeavors to amplify the efficiency of developing, building, testing, and releasing high quality mobile apps.
As an engineering manager on Mobile Performance & Reliability, you will lead a team focused on mobile performance, reliability, and observability. We instrument mobile applications to collect performance metrics, debug logs, analytics, & crash reports. These integrations and frameworks enable engineers to measure and assess the impact of their work on the customer experience.
Our team reports to the Developer Empowerment organization which ensures software development at Square is not only fast and efficient, but delightful.
Lead a foundational, multi-discipline team of engineers working on projects with wide impact across the company
Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the company including product, design, legal, support, and other engineering teams
Work closely with your technical leads to negotiate priorities and grow the existing team to achieve those goals
Guide, organize, and communicate the team’s quarterly objectives and accomplishments
Mentor engineers and help cultivate their career aspirations
Experience leading, managing, and building a team of accomplished software engineers
Demonstrated leadership and collaboration with co-workers on other teams and in other locations
Ability to provide technical mentorship and career guidance to team members
5 or more years of relevant software development experience
2 or more years of experience managing engineering teams
