Job Description

We're looking for a Technical Recruiter to join the Flex Squad, responsible for hiring technical roles outside of engineering. We support three building blocks within Square: Financial Services, Platform Infrastructure Engineering, and Information/Security (InfoSec). You’d hire for engineering management, product management, data science, and technical project management. We're a small team that executes on niche, strategic searches, with an emphasis on providing a white-glove experience to our partners and our candidates.

You will:

  • Run the entire lifecycle of recruiting from starting a new search, job description development, building an evaluation strategy, diversity sourcing, and closing candidates
  • Hire for technical positions at mid to senior levels: Data Science, Engineering Management, Product Management, Project Management, Program Management
  • Provide a stellar recruiting and interview experience for both candidates and hiring managers
  • Partner with HRBPs, Finance, Talent Programs, Compensation, and I&D to provide a holistic and inclusive approach to recruiting
  • Provide mentorship or indirect leadership on recruiting best practices, reporting into a Recruiting Manager on the team


You have:

  • At least 3 years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, including recruiting for technical roles outside of software engineering

  • 2+ years of experience partnering with hiring stakeholders

  • Experience building strategic partnerships with hiring teams and cross-functional team members

  • A desire and experience in building organizations that take into account holistic team composition and long-term vision
