Job Description

We are looking for a Compliance Operations Lead who will support and develop the innovation and growth of a compliance program. You will find and address BSA/AML risk and terms of service violations across the organization, manage an operations team of analysts, manage detection rules, analyze data, and implement creative solutions that impact Square at the enterprise level.


You Will:

  • Oversee daily operations of a compliance program by managing the operations team, creating procedures, and making recommendations to improve operational efficiency
  • Manage the team responsible for decisioning compliance alerts and potential terms of service violations, provide guidance and make final decisions on case escalations from analysts
  • Work with other Compliance leads to guide strategic planning on team growth, organizational structure, focus areas, and quarterly goals
  • Develop procedures applicable to the team, including iterating on existing workflows to improve and add efficiency
  • Work with other Compliance team members to develop technical specifications for tool and product enhancements
  • Understand regulatory landscape and compliance requirements with emphasis on applicable BSA/AML requirements including customer identification program, enhanced due diligence, and anti-money laundering requirements

Additional Information

You Have: 

  • 4+ years in a compliance operations management role with a financial services firm in the payments or Fintech space
  • 2+ years people management experience
  • Operational knowledge in building and running a sound Compliance program with hands-on knowledge of relevant regulatory and payment network requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • ACAMS Certification appreciated
