Job Description
We are looking for an experienced team member to join the TIDAL licensing team, who will support TIDAL's attorneys in securing new distribution agreements and amending existing agreements, globally with record labels, distributors and music publishers, music clearances for audiovisual content, and contract management and tracking. You will report to our Director of Business Affairs and Licensing and work with other teams such as Finance, Royalties, Content, Editorial, Artist Relations, and Business Partnerships. As we expand our offerings and further enhance TIDAL's service and products, your ideas and contributions will make an immediate impact. A creative mind with music and business affairs experience and a sense of adventure are required.
You Will:
Help secure agreements with important label and publishing partners and amend agreements with existing partners to grow and retain our music licensing coverage for TIDAL
Organize and manage past and current US and international label and publishing agreements, including the preparation of contract summaries of the license agreements and tracking our various rights and obligations under such agreements
Analyze data to communicate the impact of features and programs to licensing partners
Support business reviews with rights holders to improve performance and strengthen partnerships
Respond to label and publisher inquiries
Work cross functionally to help identify ways to better support TIDAL's label and publishing partners
Create processes to help scale a business operating in 50+ countries
Advise on music intellectual property rights matters and other projects as required by the Business Affairs and Licensing team and our internal clients
Qualifications
You Have:
Minimum 2+ years of experience in the music industry
BA/BS degree
A deep passion for music and an interest in all forms of digital content
Experience with digital music distribution and digital platforms
Familiarity with copyright law and legal issues relating to music licensing for digital platforms is a plus
Ability to independently organize, prioritize, and manage projects and proactively drive them forward
Experience with Google G-suite, Microsoft Suite, DocuSign, contract management systems, and project management tools
A team player mentality focused on helping others achieve team objectives
