Job Description

As we continue to expand our business at Afterpay, a new opportunity has been created for a Data Engineer who will be responsible for analysis, design, development for marketing & Ads data.You will have hands-on experience in large scale data processing and be responsible for conduct digital marketing via establishing data pipelines (both offline and streaming) between our own data platform and various marketing tools such as social media, CRM, promotion etc. 

You will: 

  • As a data engineer, you'll work on delivering end-to-end pipelines that collect data from various sources (core database, data lake, raw files, APIs, kafka and etc.) through innovative ways.
  • You will design and develop the data service that serves as a model-driven interface for all downstream data consumptions.
  • You will also work closely with data analysts/scientists to convert raw data into actionable insights via data pipelines and data modeling.
  • Play a key role in assisting our enterprise customers (advertisers or merchants) to understand their campaign performance by building a self-serve data analytic platform that provides the most relevant metrics and insights.


You have:

  • Bachelor degree or above in Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of hands-on working experience in the data technology domain, familiar with RDBMS and open source technologies (Spark/Flink/Clickhouse), preferably with marketing data processing. 
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python/Java
  • Broad exposure to data warehousing concept, design and development. 
  • A desire to collaborate with data scientists to build feature engineering & personalization models
  • Great communication skills; team collaboration and strong sense of responsibility. 

 Bonus points for:

  • Experience working on Amazon Web Services, or other cloud computing platforms
  • Knowledge of E-commerce, online payment and mobile
