The Automation org enables and measures the unified customer journey, intelligently empowering customers through Square's ecosystem of products. The Communications Platform team is an essential part of Automations org that builds the platform that delivers hundreds of millions of messages per month to Square merchants and customers. Our main mission is to make communication between Square and its customers scalable, easy, effective, and intelligent. We enable multi-channel (email, SMS, push, in-product) real-time messaging through well-defined APIs.

You Will...

• Build and support a multi-channel platform that reliably guarantee the delivery of millions of messages everyday
• Scale our systems and work on the fullstack to meet the ever-increasing demand
• Design APIs and the underlying data models used by many apps and microservices
• Partner with product teams at Square that integrate with our platform to guide integration plans and troubleshoot bugs as needed
• Leverage data and ML models to optimize delivery
• Work with designers and product managers to build intuitive and useful tools for our customers
• Mentor and coach other developers on the team
• Contribute to the broader tech and open source communities
• Work with cloud solutions like AWS and Google Cloud Platform

You Are...

• 4+ years of Full-stack and Backend software engineering experience, and an excellent command of engineering fundamentals.

• Proficient in one or more general-purpose software development programming languages

• Passionate about building elegant, intuitive, and empathetic products

• Embrace proactive, respectful and inclusive communications in a collaborative environment
