Job Description

Our Executive Recruiting team uses our expertise, creativity, and vision to build a world class leadership recruiting platform in support of Block and our Business Units (currently Square, Cash App, TIDAL, Spiral, and TBD). 

As a Senior Executive Recruiter you will partner directly with our executive team to design and execute proactive recruiting strategies for the most important roles within their organizations. Throughout the entire process, you will provide an unparalleled experience, while serving as an advisor to candidates and internal partners alike. 

You will bring a strong and informed point of view about what world class executive recruiting looks like today and where it should go tomorrow. You will help build, innovate, and improve our current strategies and coordinate with a broad range of cross-functional teams and partners to influence the way Block recruits talent. 

The ideal candidate will have an extensive history of successful partnerships with senior leadership and be strategic, execution focused, and passionate about building something new.

You will: 

  • Help drive the vision and strategy for the Executive Recruiting function, ensuring we have a consistent approach to the way we identify and attract leadership talent

  • Partner with our leadership team on key open positions, role prioritization and candidate quality assessment.

  • Manage the full cycle recruitment process, ensuring a high quality, and bespoke candidate experience.

  • Create and deploy unique sourcing strategies to bring in new leaders. Thinking not just about the short term, but the long term needs and lasting relationships.

  • Leverage data to inform and drive overall recruiting strategies 

  • Be a creative voice to inspire our team and our clients

  • Cultivate and lead deep cross functional relationships to drive adoption of proactive recruiting efforts

  • Engage in various projects including succession planning and market mapping.

  • Commit to inclusive hiring in order to contribute to a culture guided by diverse backgrounds and ideas. 


You are:

  • Highly collaborative with the ability to influence without authority. You are able to sell internally just as effectively as externally to help teams win

  • Intellectually curious and eager to learn, and unafraid of rolling up your sleeves and getting into the work

  • Resilient and embody a growth mindset: You find fun and opportunity in challenges

  • A creative and structured problem solver, who can architect a cohesive sales strategy

  • Good at balancing execution with continuous improvement and questioning of how to think differently and do things better

  • A motivator, able to direct team members and external partners to accomplish a defined strategy

  • A strong communicator, both written and verbal with experience presenting to senior leadership

You have: 

  • At least 10 years of full cycle leadership recruiting experience.

  • Experience building strategic partnerships with hiring teams and cross functional team members in order to uplevel your function.

  • A desire and aptitude in building organizations that take into account holistic team composition and long term vision

  • Deep sourcing and market mapping expertise a must

  • Global recruiting experience a plus
