Our mission in the Money Movement is to enable automated, standard, reliable and seamless flow of transactional payments processing.

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join and be an advocate for Cloud Native Architecture and DevOps best practices to enable this team to achieve operational excellence.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our embedded DevOps team, which is dedicated to enable the Money Movement people in managing and accessing cloud infrastructure and software development automation at ease.

The DevOps Engineer will work within the team to:

• Maintain the team owned services using infrastructure as code frameworks such as Terraform or CDK.

• Design, implement and improve CI/CD pipelines in Buildkite.

• Deploy & maintain applications in AWS EKS and assist the product team in solution design.

• Improve availability, scalability and performance of the projects owned by the team.

• Proactive monitoring and alerting to notify on symptoms before outages occur.

• Debug production issues across services and where possible partner with product engineers.

• Incident response, root cause analysis and driving remediation of incidents.

• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to afterpay availability incidents.

• Think about systems - edge cases, failure modes and lifecycles.

• Strives to achieve developer experience excellence through automation by directly coding or leading engineers to build systems that are simple to operate.

• Comfortable working in the *nix shell and can debug complex problems across the entire stack.

• Can create Infrastructure as code using Terraform or equivalent tooling.

• Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines, especially with Docker & public cloud.

• Experience with version control, preferably Git.

• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS strongly preferred) 

• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (NewRelic, PagerDuty and Cloudwatch preferred).

• Can write high quality and testable code in programming language. 

• Can communicate asynchronously and with empathy.

• Can write high quality documentation to share knowledge across the engineering organization.
