Team Description:

The Omnichannel Commerce team at Square builds products and platform-level solutions that are vital to Square’s ecosystem. The Items team, a sub-team of Omnichannel Commerce, is focused on helping merchants easily manage their omnichannel items available across multiple surface areas. We’re building a single source-of-truth omnichannel item library that enables Sellers to sell anywhere in the world. While Square has had an established item catalog for years, our team is focused on defining and building the next generation library that scales along with our diverse Seller base.

Role description:

This is a high-visibility role and we’re looking for someone that is motivated by complex problems. You’ll be responsible for contributing to the design, vision, and decisions that directly influence the Item product and roadmap. On this team, your work will span from core features to experimental explorations to multi-year vision projects. We believe in generalists that have a hand in each stage of product development, so Product Designers at Square take projects from napkin sketches to final visual specifications.

You will work with other designers, product managers, analysts, and engineers. You will report to the Design Lead of Omnichannel Commerce.

You have:

• At least 5 years of relevant professional design experience
• A portfolio highlighting work where you were the primary designer, with moderate guidance from design leadership
• Experience connecting your design work with product, team, and company goals

• You know when to compromise without sacrificing user experience or design principles
• You have the ability to clearly communicate your ideas and work to your direct team and partner teams

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $152,100 - USD $185,900
Zone B: USD $144,500 - USD $176,700
Zone C: USD $136,900 - USD $167,300
Zone D: USD $129,300 - USD $158,100
