Job Description

We're building a bitcoin wallet for the next 100M bitcoin users - importantly for people around the world who likely haven’t yet used bitcoin as a savings tool or for its payments capabilities yet. Our goal is economic empowerment -- starting with bringing easy-to-use, reliable wallet that helps people around the world own and manage their bitcoin, rather than having to rely on a number of tools and services that don’t work well together and are challenging to use for a wide global audience.

The Supply Demand Manager will be the first on the Bitcoin Hardware team. You will develop, communicate, and execute end-to- end product demand and supply plans for the Bitcoin wallet. You will be responsible for forecasting direct-to-consumer distribution across 100+ countries and several retail channels, as well as creating the MPS (Master Production Schedule).  You should possess a passion for innovative analysis, processes that scale, and the wherewithal to develop findings and recommendations that transcend the numbers.

Qualifications

You will:

  • Build out the demand forecasting and supply planning process from the ground up leveraging existing tools where appropriate

  • Coordinate with Product, Marketing and HW teams to set launch quantities and anticipated regional/country level demand forecast

  • Decide appropriate inventory buffer strategies taking into account demand uncertainties and supply chain lead times

  • Generate weekly and quarterly supply plans and partner with GSM and factory teams to close gaps

  • Evaluate risks as well as implementing contingency plans to mitigate 

  • Develop/decide systems and tools to support the Wallet SDM process

  • Understand and make decisions about strategic business needs while simultaneously operating at a tactical level

You have:

  • 7+ years experience in supply and demand planning

  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Excel and are agile in other forecasting and business systems.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A persistent attention to detail

  • Experience translating consumer demand into supply plans

  • Experience translating data into actionable information to drive results; proficiency in retail math

  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations, or other relevant field

Even Better:

  • Understanding of supply chains, lead times, and the risks associated with each node

  • Experience forecasting demand across multiple channels, including retail. 

  • Ability to operate and make decisions based off minimal data

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $152,100 - USD $185,900
Zone B: USD $141,500 - USD $172,900
Zone C: USD $133,800 - USD $163,600
Zone D: USD $121,700 - USD $148,700

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
