As a senior software engineer and member of the Cash App Financial Services engineering team, you will lead the technical design, execution, and delivery of new experiences that empower customers to manage their personal financial life in ways that are universally accessible, magically relevant, and impossibly simple. In this role, you'll drive architectural decisions and infrastructure improvements to make our systems more robust and scalable. The products that you build will create significant impact at scale and will fundamentally change how customers manage their money.
As a member of the team, you’ll:
Partner closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and business leads to scope, plan, design, and build new features as well as maintain existing functionality of Cash features
Lead and participate in critical technical, design, and product discussions with leaders across the organization and company
Design systems to work within our microservice and event-driven architectures
Hold your teammates—and yourself—to high engineering standards
Leverage your experience and knowledge to grow your teammates’ technical breadth and depth through direct coaching and mentoring
Drive to find flaws in a system with many moving parts and take whatever steps are necessary to fix them
The ability to design and build creative solutions to complex problems
A strong desire to perform and grow as an engineer
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $167,300 - USD $204,500
Zone B: USD $158,900 - USD $194,300
Zone C: USD $150,600 - USD $184,000
Zone D: USD $142,200 - USD $173,800

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a commission plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
