Job Description

The Open Source Engineering team is responsible for developing decentralized web technologies and apps related to Self Sovereign Identity, working with and establishing standards and working in tandem with our growing TBD community. Our work is out in the open (in fact you can check it out here: https://github.com/TBD54566975). This includes “wallet” applications for iOS and Android.

This position will report to the OSE lead.

As an iOS developer at TBD, you will be responsible for designing and implementing new features and functionality for our open source wallet applications.

In this role, you will work closely with our product and design teams to ensure that the user experience is intuitive and seamless. You will also be responsible for maintaining and improving the performance and stability of our wallet applications.

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of iOS development best practices, as well as experience with building and deploying applications to the App Store. 

We are looking for a self motivated individual who is able to take initiative and work effectively both independently and in a (remote) team setting. Qualifications

  • Experience building mobiles apps (iOS) using a variety of technologies (Swift, Objective-C)
  • Several years of app development experience
  • As a bonus: a keen interest in decentralized systems
  • Ideally contributed in any way to an open source project

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $152,100 - USD $185,900
Zone B: USD $144,500 - USD $176,700
Zone C: USD $136,900 - USD $167,300
Zone D: USD $129,300 - USD $158,100

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
