Job Description

We are looking for a Finance & Strategy Director to join Block and help build Cash App, the fastest growing financial app in the world. We are reinventing the way people think about banking and financial services through our P2P, Banking, Cash Card, Boost, BTC, and stock investing products. We find valuable insights from our extremely unique datasets and turn those into actions that improve the experience for our customers every day.

As a director working on the Cash App Finance & Strategy team you will:

  • Lead the Cash App Finance & Strategy team's efforts to support the Health abstraction within Cash App. The Health abstraction aims to foster trust between Cash App and our customers enabling the opportunity to serve customers with a board suite of financial services.
  • Drive cross-functional partnerships with the Cash App product development team as well as Cash App operations, corporate finance, and accounting teams to support new product development and influence strategic roadmaps
  • Forecast and analyze financial performance and business performance, communicate important takeaways to Cash App and Block leadership; identify risks and opportunities associated with financial performance
  • Manage ad-hoc analyses and special projects as requested by Cash App and Block business partners related to performance/metrics, P&L analysis, contract negotiation, among other topics
  • Present weekly, monthly, and quarterly results to stakeholders across Product, Finance & Strategy, and Accounting teams. communicate product drivers and shifts in trends
  • Scale and manage a team of analysts to support growth in the Cash App's Health abstraction
  • Report to the head of Finance & Strategy for Cash App

Qualifications

You have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or other relevant field
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience (e.g. investment banking, private equity, investments, strategic finance, corporate finance)
  • Excellent proficiency in financial modeling and Excel (be prepared for a case study)
  • Experience with banking/capital markets/specialty finance, B2B technology products, or the payments industry
  • Experience with Analytics tools- Hyperion or Analytics tools (SQL)

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $222,800 - USD $272,300
Zone B: USD $222,800 - USD $272,300
Zone C: USD $222,800 - USD $272,300
Zone D: USD $222,800 - USD $272,300
