Job Description

We’re looking for a senior copywriter (and expert content strategist) to support a robust lifecycle marketing workstream–including email campaigns, in-product messaging, and SEO/web content optimization–geared toward acquiring new customers and retaining existing ones. We’re looking for someone who knows how to craft the right message for the right context, will advocate for the customer experience, and build strong partnerships with our growth/lifecycle marketers and channel managers. This role sits on a centralized writing team, between the UX content designers and creative copywriters, and will be uniquely positioned to help us drive consistency of voice and tone across product and brand touchpoints.

 

You will:

  • Partner with creatives and marketers on lifecycle marketing campaigns that increase customer engagement/acquisition and build loyalty
  • Work closely with marketing managers on messaging strategy, value propositions, and communication goals
  • Develop a content strategy and work with creatives to bring that to life
  • Lead copywriting from concept to execution for email, in-app promotions, push/SMS, web landing pages, and more
  • Seek feedback on your work, build consensus among your team, and bring stakeholders along with your recommendations
  • Work with partners to develop best practices for our marketing channels and continue optimizing performance through A/B testing and iteration

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in (copy)writing, content strategy/content marketing, ideally also a background in growth/lifecycle marketing and/or UX
  • Exceptional writing/editing skills and passion for the craft
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently on multiple projects with various deadlines
  • Experience building successful partnerships with creative/art directors, designers, and product marketing managers
  • A portfolio of writing samples across multiple channels (email, web, etc.)

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $184,100 - USD $225,000
Zone B: USD $174,900 - USD $213,700
Zone C: USD $165,700 - USD $202,500
Zone D: USD $156,400 - USD $191,200
