Job Description

The IT Logistics team at Block is responsible for helping to provide the necessary equipment & devices to our team members, across all business units, to help them maintain productivity and creativity.  The scope of our services include IT hardware and professional services procurement, Asset management, Vendor relationship management, including, but not limited to laptops, desktops, monitors, and all supporting peripherals/accessories.  We help to manage the entire product lifecycle of these corporate engineering devices, from vendor selection, vendor onboarding, asset database management, inventory & storeroom management, forecasting, procurement, receive/deploy, and end of life.

This person will be required to come into our offices in Oakland, CA on an as needed basis. 

Our IT Vendor Managers are responsible for:

  • Managing daily IT Logistics operations
  • Driving continuous improvement 
  • Vendor Performance
  • Strategic growth initiatives on a regional and global scale  

Our Vendor Management program owns aspects of:

  • Product lifecycle management
  • Inventory planning and forecasting 
  • Business continuity planning 
  • Change management
  • Monitoring health & compliance of procure->pay
  • The overall relevant user experience of our supported users  

Our Vendor Managers lead: 

  • Vendor selection 
  • RFP/RFQ 
  • Statement of work / contract negotiations 
  • Vendor onboarding 
  • Requisition->purchase orders
  • Regular/ad hoc analysis
  • Data-driven recommendations
  • Business reviews and operational meetings
  • Documentation & regular testing of internal processes
  • Collaboration across the global logistics team to maintain a standardized approach to managing our program


 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 2-3+ years applied experience in supply chain, inventory planning or business operations
  • Preferred Spanish fluency to source & engage suppliers throughout Latin Americas
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets, Tableau/Looker or relevant platform(s),applied experience in curating the message to the appropriate audience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to execute at both a tactical and strategic level with a persistent attention to detail. 
  • Experience translating data into actionable information to drive results; proficiency in business operations and/or IT Logistics
  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations, or other relevant field or equivalent experience

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $45.38 - USD $55.48
Zone B: USD $42.21 - USD $51.63
Zone C: USD $38.61 - USD $47.16
Zone D: USD $34.04 - USD $41.63

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
