Job Description

The Team

OS Shared Surfaces is responsible for the shared surfaces at Cash App including the Money, Discover, and Activity tabs, as well as Onboarding, Experimentation, Eventing, and more. Currently, we’re building Cash App 4.0 which consists of a major re-architecture and product redesign to enable Cash App to scale and serve customers globally.

The Job

The Cash App mobile team is looking for an engineering manager to help us fundamentally change how people use Cash App today. We’re rebuilding the surfaces customers use to find Cash App products worldwide. You will manage multiple mobile teams and workstreams. You will be personally responsible for the growth of the mobile engineers on this team; collaborating with your fellow product, design, and server partners on decisions that will directly impact our shared surfaces; looking out at new technologies and evaluating how they could positively impact the way our customers interact with Cash App everywhere.

You will:

  • Manage and grow a team of product-focused mobile engineers.
  • Support the building of new, exciting functionality into an application designed to provide concrete value to our customers.
  • Own the inception, growth, and maintenance of your product area.
  • Lead and participate in technical, design, and product discussions with your fellow partners on the team, and with other partners throughout the organization.
  • Continue building a world-class team through hiring, coaching, and ongoing development.

Qualifications

You are:

  • Experienced in managing and mentoring engineers (including providing feedback, investing in career growth, and growing teams).
  • Focused on the design of products from a customer perspective. We are here to make their lives easier, and want to ensure we’re putting our customers first through every piece of engineering.
  • Committed to continuous improvement of yourself, your teammates, and our software.
  • Eager to share your own ideas, and open to the ideas of others.

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $222,800 - USD $272,300
Zone B: USD $211,600 - USD $258,600
Zone C: USD $200,500 - USD $245,100
Zone D: USD $189,400 - USD $231,400

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
