Job Description

We are looking for a Strategy Program Manager to join the Square Compliance team.

Our mission is to help build compliant and empowering products, assess and manage regulatory risk, and guide the evolution of compliance practices. You will have direct exposure to executive leadership across the organization, especially within our Counsel and Compliance teams. You will help manage team-wide programs and work with Compliance Leads to ensure their teams are operating and that programs comply with all applicable laws and regulations. You will work with teams to guide project execution, and ensure programs meet committed timelines. This is a high visibility role with exposure to multiple areas of the business, and an opportunity to get involved in many compliance related projects You will report directly to the Head of Strategy for Square Compliance.

You Will:

  • Play an active role in managing all operational processes including headcount/resourcing planning, team budgets, and compliance reviews, decision-making frameworks, goal setting processes, operating calendars, and communications
  • Create succinct and visually appealing presentations.
  • Compose content for multiple forms of communication channels including detailed project documents
  • Support annual planning and budgeting exercise
  • Coordinate and engage with regulators in a manner that shows a working knowledge of regulated financial services environment
  • Understand the business strategies and work with product and technology partners to guide our program road map
  • Help coordinate content for leadership and team meetings
  • Identify ways to improve the team's operations and improve efficiency as an organization

Qualifications

You Have:

  • 5+ years of project management and operations experience. This could include experience across operations, strategy and planning, general management, legal operations, or compliance operations.
  • Experience and skill in spreadsheet management
  • Experience and skill in powerpoint/slides design
  • Project management skills including the ability to anticipate and prioritize, creation of project plans, scheduling and running project calls, documenting the important takeaways
  • Excellent in handling complex, confidential scenarios
  • Passionate about supporting an organization and its leadership
  • Experience in payments and financial services

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $125,600 - USD $153,600
Zone B: USD $116,800 - USD $142,800
Zone C: USD $110,500 - USD $135,100
Zone D: USD $100,500 - USD $122,900

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
