Senior Product Manager, Square Local Offers
Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn’t work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality through Afterpay, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we’ve embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes – large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We're looking for a Product Manager to lead a new, 0 to 1 initiative of bringing a global consumer rewards program to market for Square. Reporting to the Product Lead for Customer Experience, you will increase discovery for our Sellers, help them attract new customers and boost sales. Our vision is to connect Block’s Seller and Buyer networks to build an industry-leading cash back rewards program for local businesses, making every Square purchase rewarding.
You will define product strategy, own the product roadmap, and collaborate with a talented team of designers, product marketing managers, engineers, and data scientists. This is a great opportunity for a product manager with consumer experience to build the next big product in the Block portfolio.
As the dedicated PM for Square Local Offers you will:
- Set a clear, coherent strategy and roadmap for accelerating adoption of this new product, with measurable goals
- Proactively identify the important problems to solve
- Drive consensus around vision, priorities and decisions within a cross-functional product squad
- Optimize for execution velocity by making tactical tradeoffs between business priorities and resources
- 5+ years of product management experience
- 2+ years of experience either working in a consumer facing product role or working on a 0 to 1 bet
- You know how to earn trust from and lead a global, cross-functional team of designers, product marketing managers, engineers and data scientists to ship amazing product experiences at scale
- Strong analytical skills— you can drive A/B testing and you're familiar with analytics/testing tools
- You're comfortable navigating ambiguity to solve problems without well-defined direction
- You have a humble and scrappy get-it-done mindset
Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. Canada locations are categorized into one of two zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
CA-A: CAD $114,500.00 - CAD $171,700.00
CA-B: CAD $110,500.00 - CAD $165,700.00
