Job Description

Block's Global External Workforce Program team works holistically across Block business units in EMEA, APAC and NORAM to drive strategy, compliance, and education for all external workforce related business. Our team provides the people, processes and technologies required to deliver an industry leading external workforce program. External Workforce Business Partners (EWBPs) at Block provide strategic and operational partnership - working in partnership with Block leadership and cross functional teams to ensure external workforce is successfully executed across governance, risk and compliance, learning and development, supplier engagement and human capital management. 

We are looking for an External Workforce Business Partner to join our team. Based remotely from anywhere in the United States, you will report to the Global Head of External Workforce  and partner with your EWBP colleagues (US and Australia based) to ensure successful development and delivery of Block’s External Workforce Program globally.

You will:

  • Help build a scalable global external workforce program to manage all global external workers - staff augmentation  workers, vendor workers, independent contractors, and freelancers/influencers.

  • Provide daily guidance to internal Block partners in EMEA, NORAM and APAC on external workforce staffing processes - in person, via video, Slack and ticketing systems.

  • Create creative solutions for business DRIs for external workforce business issues. 

  • Create and deliver optimized process and policies to help balance compliance with helping Block move with agility.  

  • Discover and deliver flexible technology options to match our next generation technology services for the External Workforce Program’s customers.

  • Help assess, manage and drive external vendor relationships to ensure their level of service supports Block’s growing needs.

  • Create process documentation and policies, and ensure processes are communicated, and training delivered to partners across Block.

  • Supports business DRIs to manage the procurement and workforce management of Temp, Vendor, and BPO external workers.

  • In partnership with Block’s MSP, provide support to Block managers related to external workforce guidelines and procedures. 

    • Be a day to day point of contact for the MSP to support with external workforce and relationship issue resolution.

    • Work with the MSP and EWBPs to help establish supplier metrics and deliver performance feedback to inspire improved service delivery.

    • Partner with MSP to help execute on business plans that focus on consistency, transparency and support for the external workforce population and Block hiring managers.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure streamlined provisioning process.

  • Provide a high level of partnership to Block’s business partners. 

  • Support other ad hoc projects as required.

Qualifications

You have: 

  • 6+ years of experience in contingent workforce, vendor management, procurement, or human resources operations.

  • Proven track record in employment relations support for contingent workforce matters.

  • Demonstrated expertise in building and managing scalable global external workforce programs.

  • Experience creating and implementing streamlined processes and policies for compliance and agility in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, providing daily guidance globally through various channels (in-person, video, Slack, ticketing systems).

  • Ability to work independently, taking initiative to drive projects to successful completion.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Suite for efficient workflow and collaboration.

Nice to have

  • The ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets in Excel, and create PowerPoint presentations 

  • Project management and/or program management qualifications

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $101,500 - USD $152,300
Zone B: USD $94,400 - USD $141,600
Zone C: USD $86,300 - USD $129,500
Zone D: USD $76,200 - USD $114,200
