Job Description

As a Information Security Technical Analyst within the Vulnerability Management Program you will  support ongoing triage and case management of newly discovered and reported vulnerabilities. This analyst will be engaging with all parts of the Information Security organization,  subject matter experts from the cross-functional teams, and business unit representatives to ensure teams are informed of the potential risks and impacts of the vulnerabilities, and make informed decisions on vulnerability remediations.  

You Will: 

  • Own and drive vuln case technical triage and overall case lifecycle management
  • Analyze vulnerabilities and prioritize based on impact 
  • Identify common patterns and provide key insights to help mitigate future risks
  • Assist in determining appropriate remediation strategies for critical vulnerabilities
  • Monitor and analyze vendor advisories, vulnerability reports, bug trackers, and other sources for information to report potential vulnerabilities to triage
  • Monitor threat intelligence data to assess and flag potential risks that may have impact to the organization
  • Influence business risk decisions across the organization
  • Partner across the Security teams to identify areas of risk and work closely with business teams to make informed risk-based decisions
  • Assist in producing meaningful metrics and reports for customer and leaderships on organizational vulnerability health
  • Manage and monitor ongoing penetration test engagements organized across Information Security teams
  • Generate and collect vulnerability data in support of compliance audits and regulatory requirements
  • Periodically assess and engage in tool improvement, process improvement and documentations to enhance the vulnerability management program lifecycle  
  • This role is a key contributor to operations reviews, special projects, and process improvement activities.

Qualifications

You Have: 

  • 5+ years of demonstrated security, intelligence & risk management experience working in a technology-focused company
  • Deep technical understanding of common security vulnerabilities and risks
  • Strong knowledge of risk countermeasures and compensating controls
  • Facility with empathetic interpersonal interactions via video conference
  • A thoughtful approach to technical analysis and ability to quickly assess new platforms
  • Fundamental knowledge of security principles; ability to demonstrate an understanding of product and/or  information security, such as threats and vulnerabilities.
  • General understanding of installation, configuration and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, networking and cloud computing. 
  • Experience in working with vuln cases related to Data Privacy (e.g. DSL)
  • Technical mindset of problem-solving with a strong work ethics, motivated and results driven
  • Experience in leading strategic discussions and proactively seeking out ways to drive thought leadership through technology and/or operational best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

An Ideal Candidate Would Have:

  • Hold SW product development related certifications such as Security+, CySA+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or related CompTIE, GIAC, or EC-Council certifications. 
  • Knowledge of programing language(s) for automation, scripting, and test 
  • Prior knowledge of program metrics development principals including creating visualizations
  • Looker or like visualization tooling setup and maintenance experience  a plus.

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $156,200 - USD $234,200
Zone B: USD $148,300 - USD $222,500
Zone C: USD $140,600 - USD $210,800
Zone D: USD $132,700 - USD $199,100
