Job Description

Square is growing its financial services footprint through the launch of new products and international expansions. This is an exciting time for our business and to support these activities we are looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Finance and Strategy Banking team to be the primary F&S analyst for our Square Loans product.

This position will be fundamental in shaping our credit strategy and communicating critical decisions to Product leadership, senior Risk and Compliance stakeholders and Block management. Success in this role requires the ability to exercise excellent business acumen while often operating autonomously without existing problem solving frameworks or precedent solutions. We are looking for someone with a strong analytical background who can manage and drive these solutions across a variety of strategic and financial focused challenges.  

Candidates can sit in any Square office in the US or be remote from any US state with the exception of Alaska.

You Will:

  • Act as a key strategic partner to our Credit Product and Risk teams, driving business planning and insights that will shape the future of our lending strategy

  • Serve as a key strategic contributor in projects across Square’s Credit organization, specifically growth and expansion initiatives in new international markets

  • Play a key role in developing our Credit Product narrative with Block’s Senior Leadership team

  • Forecast financial performance by developing/managing core Lending KPIs

  • Build and maintain financial models to track and forecast our key revenue and expense drivers, including credit loss provision 

  • Work closely with senior stakeholders of Square Financial Services, Square and Block on optimal capital allocation strategies

  • Act as the primary point of contact for credit risk initiatives

Qualifications

You Have:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in financial services or consumer/merchant credit products and/or experience working in corporate finance, strategy/operations, consulting, or investment banking 

  • Prior experience in credit products and/or risk finance is highly preferred

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and clearly articulate outcomes to senior management

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (can perform complex functions), there will be a case study

  • Demonstrated exceptional achievement in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

  • Experience leading complex projects end to end involving multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to employ large datasets to identify performance insights that influence decisions

  • Experience with SQL and/or other relational database programming languages is highly preferred

  • Experience with analytics tools and data visualization tools is preferred

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $111,700 - USD $167,500
Zone B: USD $103,800 - USD $155,800
Zone C: USD $98,200 - USD $147,400
Zone D: USD $89,400 - USD $134,000
