Job Description

The Product Partnerships Team is responsible for the end-to-end development and deployment of Square’s Partnership strategy globally. This includes working closely with our product and platform teams to develop strategy, scoping potential partnerships and negotiating contracts, developing deep relationships with external parties, and executing the deployment and ongoing growth of partnerships across a cross-functional team within Square. The successful candidate will have experience building and growing a team, managing external relationships and driving cross-functional internal teams, be comfortable dealing with uncertainty, and able to put structure to complex, unstructured product problems. The position reports to Square’s Global Business Lead, Francoise Brougher. 


You will:

  • Develop and execute Partnerships strategy to enhance and grow key Square products, including established and nascent aspects of Square’s business
  • Work closely with product, marketing, account management, support, and sales teams to identify and engage potential partners to enhance our product functionality and distribution
  • Grow and manage strategic partner relationships with key players in SMB and technology space
  • Lead the team that develops, executes and manages product partner relationships at Square

You have:

  • 8+ years of experience of post-university work experience with at least 2 years in operating role in business development, marketing, or product management
  • Leadership & general management skills, especially in setting strategy, gaining alignment, & building a strong team
  • Proven ability to develop relationships, negotiate, and problem solve with external partners
  • Demonstrated product sense and experience launching new products/features
  • Strong analytical skills – able to evaluate opportunities from strategic, brand, financial, and operational perspectives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to think and communicate creatively, thoughtfully, and on your feet with diverse technical and non-technical groups, spanning all organizational levels
