Job Description

At Square, we are looking for a strategic, creative and results-oriented leader to join our team to lead Growth & Retention marketing. You will be responsible for driving Square’s business growth and customer retention by working cross-functionally with Product, Product Marketing, Content Marketing, Account Management and Partnerships teams. You are excited about the chance to build and grow an evolving organization and has extensive experience with marketing leadership. This team leads retention and growth across all marketing channels including in-product, webinar, email, display, and mobile. This is a senior role leading a 8+ person team including analysts, designers and channel marketers. 

You will:

  • Build and execute on the long term vision for the Customer Engagement team by creating scalable programs, internal partners and marketing infrastructure
  • Lead team in development of multi-channel engagement campaigns across Square’s existing seller base
  • Drive engagement campaign management and report results to our senior leadership team
  • Partner with analytics and data science to use insights in driving improvement for all marketing channels
  • Determine the best assessment metrics to judge the effectiveness of our team and our programs
  • Be creative and use the latest techniques to build the user base and accelerate growth
  • Collaborate with product marketing, partnerships, account management and acquisition marketing teams to deliver on cross-functional strategies and plans
  • Drive marketing automation requirements along key axes - delivering email and in-app messaging, A/B testing, deploying dynamic creative, facilitating triggered marketing.
  • Lead and coach a high performing marketing team in achieving individual and shared goals


Qualifications

You have:

  • 7+ years of experience leading a Marketing team with consistent success meeting and exceeding goals
  • 4+ years of people management 
  • Extensive experience across a variety of marketing channels including email, in-product, mobile and digital.
  • Experience leading and growing relationships with internal and external teams
  • Attested ability using data and analytics to inform and influence decision-making
  • Ability to scale programs quickly and increase program efficiencies
  • A strong background in evaluating and deploying marketing tools
  • BA/BS degree required, MBA or advanced degree a plus
