Job Description

What separates the good from the great? An inherent and insatiable appetite for continual learning. As a member of the People Team you’ll play an essential role in creating meaningful programs that help Squares grow personally and professionally.

The program manager will lead the design and delivery of robust career management programs and supporting processes that might include: performance reviews, succession planning, diversity & inclusion, employee engagement, and career growth and development. You work is integral to Square’s overall people strategy and vision and must be responsive to business priorities. 

You will:

  • Leverage business data, workforce insights (e.g. engagement surveys), and industry leading practices to define career management programs and practices, including goal setting, career paths, key performance indicators, performance reviews, and succession planning.
  • Partner with Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, HRBPs and other key stakeholders to ensure career management programs contribute to a cohesive people strategy that is integrated with the business agenda.
  • Design templates, tools, communications, and other materials to help HRBPs assess business needs and deliver programs to the business units.
  • Measure effectiveness and impact of career management programs and provide data / insights to other teams (e.g. Talent) to that can be used to refine the people strategy. 

Qualifications

You have: 

  • BA/ BS degree or practical experience 
  • 6+ years human capital consulting or HR generalist experience.
  • 5+ years experience in at least three (3) of the following areas: performance management, career management, career competency and capability management, learning & development, organization effectiveness/development, diversity & Inclusion, business process design.
  • 5+ years program and project management.
  • 4+ years leading small teams and coaching team members.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, organizational and presentation skills.
  • History of strong partnering and collaboration across teams and organizational boundaries.
  • Strong strategic and systems thinker who helps others understand the big picture.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to set priorities, solve problems, and get things done in a startup environment.
