Job Description

As the Product Director, Payments, you will be responsible for driving product initiatives that enhance and grow the core Payments offering for Square. You will lead a team of Product Managers and direct the overall product roadmap and vision for Payments products. In this role you will collaborate closely with designers, engineers, analysts, and other cross-functional team members to create, test, prioritize, and implement compelling growth strategies. 


You will:

  • Own delivery of product initiatives and releases
  • Write user narratives to imagine the experience a customer may have
  • Define, document, and communicate objectives, requirements and constraints for product initiatives and releases
  • Partner with the stakeholders in the payments ecosystem and ensure coordination with banks, card brands, debit networks, processors, settlements and acquirers. 
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to edit the service and product
  • Communicate development status and document progress toward milestones
  • Prioritize and sequence product initiatives against a mandate
  • Implement risk management into product decisions and partner with risk team in order to appropriately address risk into product design and development
  • Perform market research and analysis


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management in commerce or payments related categories
  • Built a product vision and roadmap for a consumer oriented suite of products
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial, self-starter attitude
  • Superior organization skills
  • The ability to work well with designers and engineers
  • An analytical and metrics driven work ethic
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • A passion for Square and new technology
  • Natural leader skills and proven ability to innovate
  • Prior experience at a startup or consumer internet company
