Job Description

The Reconciliation Operations team at Square is responsible for tracking the status of every penny we move between payment processors, financial institutions, and our customers. We process millions of transactions every day, which means we have a lot of data flowing into our reconciliation system and ultimately into our ERP. We need your help turning this data into meaningful information for internal customers.

You will:

  • Work with the Reconciliation team to scope, build, and automate reports for internal customers
  • Support the Accounting team by investigating issues contained within the reports as well as during month close and financial audits

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of relevant, hands-on work experience in data analysis and using SQL (we use Hive, MySQL, and Oracle)
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • Ability to understand complex business systems and processes
  • Excellent attention to detail

Even better:

  • Report development experience
  • Experience querying extremely large datasets
  • Experience with accounting processes (debits and credits, balance sheet vs. income statement, close processes)
  • Experience with financial and/or legal audits
