Our software powers the entire delivery experience: we have close relationships with the best restaurants in every city, a network of Caviar Couriers and customer ordering products on 3 platforms.

You Will:

• Create a consistent, flexible, reliable platform within AWS with an eye toward simplicity and maintainability.

• Help keep our service running no matter what happens through good design, solid implementation, performance tuning, and capacity modeling.

• Work with the Square Security team to ensure that every aspect of our infrastructure follows the highest standards for security and compliance.

• Make our build, deployment and configuration system delightful.

• Create infrastructure that makes it easy for Caviar engineers to build high-availability systems.

• Work with extraordinary engineers.

• Make hungry people happy.

You Have:

• Strong knowledge of CS fundamentals.

• Deep understanding of Linux based server maintenance, scaling and management.

• Experience building infrastructure for services at scale.

• Experience with developing tools and frameworks for automation.

• Past experience working with AWS or other cloud hosting provider.

• A desire to dig deep through logs, documentation and source code to find the root cause of a problem and solve it.

• A keen sense for how to make trade offs when building features and systems.

• Enough experience to know that writing code is not always the best solution to every problem.

And even better:

• Past experience building and scaling platforms for Rails applications on AWS using Docker and ECS.

• Comfort with logging and monitoring infrastructure for a service platform using Librato, ElasticSearch, Logstash and Kibana.

• A real passion for good food.
