Job Description

Square is looking for a Senior Dispute and Chargeback Specialist who will play an instrumental role on our Dispute Resolution Team. The Dispute and Chargeback Specialist will review seller’s disputes and work cross functionally to increase Square’s internal chargeback win rates.

Square is looking for an analytical thinker with mid-level payment processing knowledge who’ll critically review high dollar chargebacks and build internal quality programs to ensure industry regulations are applied to responded disputes.

In addition to processing payment disputes this person will work closely with our issuing partners and credit card networks to develop external collaboration and enhance internal dispute operations.


You will:

  • Lead and develop chargeback policies and processes to identify and minimize disputes
  • Review high dollar chargebacks received from credit card companies or financial institutions and accept or dispute the chargeback
  • Contact and effectively communicate with customers and internal partners to ensure all SLAs are achieved with little or no supervision
  • Lead external communication with issuing partners to ensure all industry regulations are delivered in chargeback responses
  • Collaborate with Dispute Support Representatives to standardize internal dispute responses


Qualifications

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree required (B.A. or B.S)
  • 3+ years of experience in Risk, banking or credit card industries
  • Team player capable of learning and sharing knowledge in global team environment
  • Real passion for Square. Strong interest in technology / knowledge of the industry
  • Strong communication skills, self-motivation and results-oriented approach;
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
