Job Description

You will:

  • Partner with Square’s product teams to prioritize and answer the most important questions where analytics will have material impact
  • Use your experience in analytics tools and scientific rigor to produce actionable insights
  • Act as an advocate of data driven culture at our company: be the subject matter expert on your product and its data, and analytics at Square in general
  • Collaborate with business leaders, subject matter experts, and decision makers to develop success criteria and optimize new products, features, policies, and models
  • Build visualizations that expose the health and performance of our products
  • Communicate key results to senior management in verbal, visual, and written media
  • Work with engineers to evangelize data best practices and implement analytics solutions

Teams we work with:

  • Payments: Building a beautiful, friction-free checkout experience for both the seller and their buyers
  • Seller Experience: Make sure our sellers are connected to the products, features, and data that they need
  • Subscription & SaaS Products: Specific products and features that help our sellers manage their business and connect to their buyers

Qualifications

You have:

  • 2+ years of industry experience in product related analytics
  • Knowledge and experience in leveraging analytics to make positive material impact on our products and business directly
  • Ability to self-prioritize and work in collaboration with multiple product managers, engineering managers and marketing managers as a front-line analytics partner
  • Experience working with early stage products on data model design, data logging, and data validation
  • Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to build strong relationships and trust with our partners
  • Fluency with SQL
  • Experience in programming or scripting to enable ETL development
  • Experience (or ability to quickly ramp up) in common data, analytics and visualization technologies (Amplitude, Tableau)
  • Experience (or ability quickly ramp up) in other database technologies like Hive and Vertica
  • Experience (or ability quickly ramp up) in a version controlled coding environment (like GitHub or Stash)
  • Plus for previous professional experience in product, marketing, business, or other related roles
