Job Description

In Risk Operations at Square, you'll design, build, and operationalize complex systems and processes to root out fraudulent and other high-risk activity across the Square platform of products. Our teams strive to lead the industry in risk management; we work across the globe to protect merchants and consumers while enabling revenue and scale. The Risk Business Operations team is directly responsible for the most complex process and analytical work, and functions as an independent project management and consulting group for the nearly one hundred individuals in Global Risk Operations. This role reports to the Head of Risk Operations. 

You will:

  • Drive the development of reporting, tools, and operational processes across the Risk organization and departments/products which rely on Risk
  • Identify areas of opportunity for continuous improvement
  • Diagnose complex problems and develop compelling, data-driven recommendations
  • Develop top-tier operational practices, optimizing against efficiency, quality, customer experience, and overall operational excellence
  • Perform ad hoc data analysis to remove roadblocks and keep operations running smoothly
  • Play a significant role in long-term Risk strategy and planning
  • Manage efficiency and quality improvement projects and ongoing programs
  • Partner with key stakeholders on industry leading operational practices; infuse the organization's strategy and operations with best practices
  • Manage the development and reporting of key performance indicators for the broader Risk organization

Qualifications

You have:

  • The ability to think horizontally across the Risk organization about operations and systems and their feedback loops
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience
  • Track record of successful project and program management in complex environments
  • The ability to find and develop a strategic foresight capacity for the Risk organization
  • Skilled at building relationships with leaders as well as technical teams to drive results
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members within the organization
  • Experience in finance, risk management, consulting, or data science required
  • MBA or JD preferred
