Job Description

The Retail Operations Associate will manage the strategy, execution, and analysis behind Square’s evolving retail supply-chain. This individual will execute retail operations for Square products in both domestic and international markets. In addition to owning the day-to-day operations, the Retail Operations Associate will also be expected to identify and drive ongoing process improvements across all areas of focus.

The successful candidate will possess a passion for innovative analysis, scalable systems, and the wherewithal to develop findings and recommendations that transcend the numbers. Ideally, this person will have worked at a top tier operational consultancy, a Fortune 1000 eCommerce Retailer, or acted in a similar capacity at another firm, and will feel comfortable interacting with senior management on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day partnership and operations with supply-chain teams and downstream customers (Distributors, Retailers, etc).

  • Oversee processing of customer orders, with a focus on implementing scalable tools for growth.

  • Identify, measure, and document existing processes and operational improvement opportunities within channel.

  • Manage order and invoice processes and collaborate with the Finance team to identify and establish process improvements.

  • Perform support functions related to new and existing orders.

  • Interact daily with warehouse and fulfillment teams to ensure smooth and accurate shipment of customer orders.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across global Square offices, ensuring projects and partnerships are executed correctly and on time.

  • Support retail partner managers to operationalize new programs & merchandising campaigns.

  • Work closely with supply and demand planners to ensure customer needs and requirements are consistently met.

  • Manage in-stock rates and sales with major retail partners, either through direct management of retail relationship or through distributor partners.

Qualifications

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Passion for operations management and supply chain

  • Background in an analytical discipline such as engineering, operations research, or economics

  • Expert quantitative analysis and logical reasoning; experience using databases for analysis is a plus

  • Creativity in developing actionable analysis and recommendations

  • Experience with major ERP systems

  • 5-6 years of work experience in consulting, finance, or product management is desired

  • Nice to have: proficiency in database systems, experience with warehousing operations, retail experience
