Job Description

The Program Manager, Operations will help delight our customers by leading the back-office functions required to ensure Square Payroll meets compliance requirements as well as scaling the operation’s team.


We are looking for an experienced operations professional who can also play a generalist role on our team taking responsibility in all aspects of delivering our product’s value to customers. First and foremost, the ideal candidate is a “do-er” who takes delight in organization and ensuring that we’re delivering accurate tax payments and filings to our customers as well as to the proper agencies. They have a keen attention to detail, strong critical thinking skills and knows how to scale and grow an operations team by automating key processes and increasing efficiency.

Qualifications

You will:

  • Ensure customer tax payments and filings are made seamlessly, accurately and on-time

  • Design, implement and document procedures that are control focused, auditable and scalable in an evolving payroll operations environment

  • Identify, document, and solve operational problems arising as a result of product bugs and limitations or customer error

  • Design and implement new features and internal tools that will drive a scalable operations strategy through automation

  • Train and mentor team members to pass on your deep industry knowledge of operations

  • Collaborate with product editors, designers and engineers to create the best end-to-end product experience for our customers


You have:

  • Background in Product Management or Operations at a tech company

  • Critical thinking, strong decision making abilities and familiarity in scaling an operations team

  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, innovative and ever-changing dynamic environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills & strong attention to detail

  • Passion for building tools and ensuring our customers have the best experience

  • Fast learner who will be able to become a subject matter expert in payroll in a short time
