    Job Description

    Part time Position at Bridgeway Assisted Living. 4-8pm, 2 nights per week/E.O. Weekend. This position is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services designed to maintain the resident’s physical and emotional well being. RESPONSIBLITIES and DUTIES:

    •Assist the resident with personal cares which may include all or some of the following: shampooing of hair, assist with showering, rubbing with lotions, fingernail cares and foot cares if instructed to do so, medication administration, redirection of a confused resident, and other cares as assigned. •Assist with dressing, grooming and oral cares as assigned.

    •Assist in use of hearing aids and glasses for residents.

    •Help each resident to reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence.

    •Assist with treatments as delegated the Register Nurse per individualized care plan.

    •Observe client and report changes in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, loss of appetite, weight, etc.

    •Medication administration/assistance as delegated.

    •Prepare and/or serve meals as directed following special meal plans if instructed.

    •Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration as instructed. Report changes or concerns to RN.

    • Attend In-service training as assigned.

    •Follows cleaning schedule per shift worked. •Lead resident activities as scheduled and assigned.

    Qualifications

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.

      •Ability to write simple correspondence and documentation on each resident.

      •Ability to effectively present information on one-to-one and small group situations to customers, residents and other employees of the organization. REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    •Must understand and communicate using specialized medical terminology.
