The business area Europe (E) is responsible for the development and ownership of hydro, wind, solar and grid services assets in Europe (excluding the Nordics).

The Investment and Execution unit currently consists of 20 employees located across Europe and is responsible for providing support related to commercial aspects of business, project and portfolio development in Europe. The unit is also responsible for investor assumption used for valuation of sell-down cases and for developing and maintaining a network, relations, and partnerships with institutional investors relevant for the Business Area.

This role will be fixed term for 12 months to cover parental leave and can be based in either the London, UK or Cork, Ireland office.

Job Description

As Investment Associate: 

  • Business case management & analysis: Set-up the business case and financial model for various use cases, such as valuations of land lease acquisitions or M&A projects as well as for internal decision making and reporting. Be the owner of latest commercial assumptions and update those through dialogue with various internal and external stakeholders such as investors or market analysts. Update and enhance valuation tools. 
  • Commercial structuring: Support contract negotiations for cooperation, lease or service contracts. Take a leading role in analysis of route-to-market activities through auctions or power purchase agreements (PPAs). Be the first point of contact to the development team for commercially sensitive questions. 
  • Transaction management: Be an integral part of the transaction team, execute market screening and drafting of short and long lists, manage data room and Q&A processes for acquisition or sell-down activities, support in contract structuring and negotiations. 

Qualifications

  • University degree within relevant area, such as finance, economics, engineering or similar. 
  • Experience in valuation, M&A, commercial development functions or related fields, preferably in Renewables at a bank, advisor or developer / corporate  
  • Profound understanding and some experience in financial modelling and knowledge of main value drivers of renewables  
  • Positive attitude with an ability to work on various ad hoc projects concurrently with a demonstrated ability to manage a large workload
  • Professionalism and integrity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in other main European languages would be an advantage
