Job Description

In this role, you will be expected to create value and contribute to the growth and profit expansion of the company in the area of warehouse operations management.  The Warehouse Manager shall direct and supervise all aspects of warehousing, inventory management and logistics while increasing efficiency and maintaining accuracy.  This position requires leadership and team building skills, attention to detail, forward thinking and a commitment to continuous learning.  Prior experience working with Lean practices, AS9120 and understanding of Profit & Loss statements.  This position reports to and collaborates with the Branch Manager.  

More specifically, it is the responsibility of the Warehouse Manager to:

 

1)    Maintain a clean, safe, organized and efficient Stellar warehouse and distribution area:

a)    Manage and supervise the flow of all goods in and out of the warehouse in the most efficient manner possible, utilizing all tools and resources available

i)      Supervise all aspects of warehouse functions listed under the Warehouse Level 1 job expectations

b)    Provide an efficient, cost effective delivery system and schedule that meets or exceed our customers’ expectations and review regularly for improvement

c)    Identify opportunities for improvement and work with the Branch Manager to implement policy or procedure changes.

d)    Perform all warehouse and distribution core functions and measure performance against goals and post for all team members to view.  Includes, but not limited to:

i)      Support Stellar QMS, KPI’s and all other warehouse metrics.

ii)     Cycle count, inventory variances, receiving and order pulling discrepancies

e)    Maintain adequate maintenance of all warehouse and distribution equipment; i.e., forklift, delivery trucks, UPS scale, etc.

i)      Work with the Branch Manager to develop and maintain an annual budget with regards to above equipment  and warehouse needs

 

 

2)    Lead, supervise and develop a competent Stellar warehouse staff:

a)    Develop a budget and plan to Hire, train, and if necessary terminate for cause warehouse personnel in conjunction with the Branch Manager

b)    Manage schedules to allow for appropriate coverage at all times

c)    Develop a warehouse team that operates as an effective cohesive unit, striving to meet and exceed company and branch goals

d)    Provide annual performance reviews for warehouse staff, evaluating each individuals performance for the relevant time period, laying out specific improvements and goals for the future in conjunction with the Branch Manager

e)    Maintain a work environment that is enriching and rewarding, encouraging training and continual learning for all team members

 

 

3)    Conduct yourself as a responsible Stellar employee and co-worker:

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years working in a warehouse environment
  • 2-3 years experience as a warehouse manager preferred
  • Excellent leadership ability
  • Forward thinking and strong vision
  • Experience with Lean practices is a must
  • Experience with ISO certification, especially AS9120 is preferred
  • Strong coaching and employee development skills and experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Competence with Profit & Loss statements
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Commitment to continuous learning
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Requires standing, stooping, reaching and walking for continuous periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to operate a forklift
