Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Consulting and Creative, the creative lead guides all projects and is responsible for the overall quality of work produced by the creative department. This hands-on role will lead design operations for our creative team, including day-to-day project management of creative workstreams, design and art direction, bandwidth/capacity planning, cross-functional team alignment, budget and resourcing oversight, and metrics and reporting. Tasked not only with informing the work with clients or the creative strategy but also training and coaching of the design team. Challenged to both inspire and brainstorm fresh ideas, manage deliverables, and captivate the target market while exercising the ability to manage the expectations of internal and external partners. Thriving in this role requires a growth mindset, exceptional communication skills, and an innate ability to deal with ambiguity.

Responsibilities include:

Creative strategy

  • Manage the creative process from concept to completion
  • Translate marketing objectives into clear creative strategies
  • Meet with clients or upper management to explain campaign strategies and solutions
  • Lead the process to leverage clients’ EVP through to Employer Brand activation in multiple channels and touchpoints such as social media (LinkedIn, Meta), Google Display, OOH, internal client platforms (intranet), client recruitment marketing (PPT, brochures, campus materials)
  • Direct creative content generation involving photo and video shoots on location

Team and project management

  • Prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short- and long-term needs, establishing production schedules by collaborating with designers, copywriters, and production departments, some of whom may be outside the organization such as creative freelancers or partner agencies
  • Independently manage multiple concurrent creative projects independently; influence prioritization
  • Report progress of projects at major stages of their conception, creation, and execution
  • Oversee project profitability, deliverables, timelines and budgets
  • Anticipate problems that may impede a project from completing on time and implement solutions
  • Remain actively involved in hiring and training creative staff
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and business impact
  • Onboard, manage, and nurture relationships with external vendors

Creative leadership and contribution

  • Conduct brainstorming sessions with creative team, maintaining strategic and creative thinking to develop innovative and actionable creative initiatives
  • Ensure visual communication and brand standards are met
  • Oversee client pitches and proposals
  • Review work, troubleshoot and provide feedback to creative teams
  • Employ strong creative judgment across all workstreams; maintain creative excellence
  • Develop and enforce processes and systems; drive continuous process improvements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-5 years experience working in a creative position, either in-house or at an agency/consultancy
  • Previous experience in a marketing communications or advertising agency is a plus 
  • Able to demonstrate translation of strategy into a coherent creative platform 
  • Possesses strong multitasking skills and willingness to balance internal and externally facing work
